Pies and Quilts
The Women of the Church have a few events coming up.
At our September meeting we discussed the Annual Thanksgiving Bake Sale. We will sell goodies on November 22, so we’re meeting in the church kitchen at 9 a.m. November 21 for a group bake-off of apple, pumpkin, and pecan pies. We encourage everyone to bring your homemade goodies to sell. I have a new recipe for a fresh apple cake that is wonderful. I know you all have your favorite baked goods. All donated money will go toward renovating the two bathrooms next to the parish hall. Amy Johnson and Oksana Snow have been working hard to get the best price for new toilets and flooring for the two bathrooms. Ask them about it—they will give you details.
You have all been waiting for the WOTC to raffle the next quilt. Maybe you saw it during the annual ministry fair. This lovely, feminine, child’s quilt was hand quilted by our own Quilters Group. We will begin taking donations November 1 for the drawing November 22. You can donate $5 per ticket or get six tickets for $25. These funds will also go toward bathroom renovation. Be generous and have the joy of giving this lovely quilt to a special little girl. Our next meeting will be at the Baking of the Pies. We will discuss Christmas party preparations then. Bring your suggestions along with your pie fillings!
